What Your Extra Money Actually Buys
Space — the biggest real difference
A 28-person basket is divided into compartments of 4–5 people, and at sunrise everyone wants the same side for photos. In a 12-person comfort basket you can move, turn and shoot in every direction without negotiating shoulders. If photography is the point of your trip, this is the upgrade that pays for itself.
Airtime — 60 vs 90 minutes
Standard flights typically fly about an hour; comfort and deluxe flights advertise 75–90 minutes. The extra half hour usually means more altitude changes — skimming valley floors, then climbing high for the panorama — rather than more distance, since balloons drift wherever the wind goes.
Service wrap
Higher classes add sit-down breakfasts instead of a buffet box, smaller pickup groups, champagne rather than sparkling juice at landing, flight photos or video, and sometimes flowers or cake for occasions. Nice — but none of it is visible at 300 meters over Love Valley.

Which Class Should You Book?
- First visit, normal budget → Standard. The experience gap between €90 and €300 is far smaller than the price gap. A standard Göreme sunrise flight with free cancellation is the sensible default.
- Photographers and couples → Comfort. The smaller basket is the one upgrade you will notice the whole flight.
